The work
The base does the work
Every failed driveway we take up looks the same underneath: a thin scattering of hardcore over soft ground, no edge restraint, and nowhere for water to go. The surface then settles into ruts under the wheels and the edges spread.
We dig out to depth, lay and compact a proper sub-base, set the edges in concrete, and then lay the surface you have chosen. Drainage is designed in, because since 2008 a new front driveway generally has to drain to a permeable surface or a soakaway rather than straight onto the road.
