My gutter overflows in heavy rain only. Is that a blockage?

Often it is a blockage or a silted outlet, and sometimes it is the fall being too shallow for the volume coming off a large roof. Both are worth sorting quickly, because it is the wall below that pays for it.

How often should gutters be cleared?

Once a year suits most houses, and twice if there are trees over the roof. Combining it with a moss clear or a roof check saves paying for access twice.

Can you match my cast iron gutters?

Cast-iron-effect aluminium is the usual answer. It has the same deep profile and shadow line, it is far lighter, and it does not rust. From street level it reads as cast iron.

Are gutter guards worth fitting?

They suit a roof under trees, but they are not maintenance free: moss and needles still build up on top, so they reduce clearing rather than remove it. We will be straight with you about that before fitting any.

My neighbour and I share a gutter run. What then?

On a terrace or semi the run often crosses the boundary. We will show you where the join falls and what can be done on your side, and it is usually worth speaking to the neighbour so the whole run gets done at once.
